At the European Open we launched another innovative new feature - this time for the judge teams. To overcome limitations of computer-based scoring systems, we developed an iPod client for the judges. Each judge on the panel is using an iPod touch to enter scores, review stats and access rankings. This gives the judges more flexibility and us more set-up options. At the same time, the new client provides all the same award-winning features that judges crews around the world love. For summer 2010, we plan to launch a public judging application which will allow spectators and internet users to score runs just as the judges do and compare their ratings with their friends and the official scores. Finally, a big thanks to the Sounds for a great performance at the BEO Closing Party in Laax!!!

The O´Neill Evolution was a great start into the 2010 season for us! In Davos, we officially launched our new live communication services platform including event microsites and our iPhone app eFan . Athletes, coaches and spectators can now follow the event live on the web or their iPhone! We received very positive feedback and will add applications for Symbian and Android phones in the near future. The O`Neill Evolution is also one of the few action sports events in Europe produced in FullHD. To get some impressions, you can watch the replay of the Halfpipe Final on www.freecaster.tv

Rock music, hot girls, world class skiers and 100.000 Euro prize money - likely not things you would expect at an alpine ski event. But excactly this combination was brought to live at the World Alpine Rockfest in Paganella, Italy shortly before Christmas. The organizers presented alpine skiing in a new and innovative way to showcase that alpine skiing can be fun! EIM Solutions was chosen to provide the timing and live graphics services for the World Alpine Rockfest. Become a fan (click here!) of EIM Solutions on Facebook (click here) and check out the pictures we shot behind the scenes!

Working for the Air&Style Company since 2007, the Billabong Air&Style in Innsbruck is always a special event for us. Last weekend, a huge crowd of more than 12.000 fans filled the Bergisel stadium to watch some of the biggest stars in snowboarding on the Big Air ramp. Our live graphics package was taylor-made for the events KO format and ensured that the spectators in the stadium and the tv viewers at home always knew what was going on. We also tested the current beta version of our new web-based live scoring solution (have a first look here) which will also include our first-ever iPhone App eFan (Sreenshot). With those tools spectators and viewers will never miss a score again and always be up-to-date with whats going on. Over the next couple weeks, we will iron out a few minor issues and launch the new plattform and the iPhone App at the O'Neill Evolution 2010 in Davos.

What a massive undertaking, two major international multi-sport events only two weeks apart. First, freestyle.ch in Zurich, then two weeks later freestyle.berlin. In between, the Cable Wakeboard World Tour Finals in Bursa/Turkey. All three events went down really well, thanks to our proven project management method and the experienced staff we had working at all events.

Country Hopping continued... After Canada came New Zealand - back to winter, still our favorite season! All in all, our teams spent four weeks down under, first at the Burton New Zealand Open which show-cased the world´s best snowboarders and some of the most progressive riding in snowboarding ever seen. At WinterGamesNZ, we were responsible for participant management, IT project coordination and all scored sports. 800 athletes from all around the world, 300 volunteers, 10 sports, 3 venues, uncounted hours on crazy mountain roads - a truely unique experience. Once again, we showed that we are able to handle high volume events as good as small invitational with their totally different requirements. Project Management was a key success factor with events happening at three different venues in less than ten days. Cabling and set-up for the Live TV Show from the Snowboard and Freeski Big Air event at Coronet Peak took two days, unfortunately the events had to be cancelled due to really bad weather. Back to Back events since mid July, we are all looking forward to get some rest before we head west to Zurich for the freestyle.ch.

Jippie! Off a plane - on a plane. Only six hours in the office to change equipment and repack everything for the highlight of the season - the Crankworx Mountainbike Championships in Whistler, Canada. Over a period of 9 event days, more than 1000 competitors fought for the titles in different Downhill races, Dual races and the world-famous Slopestyle event. Challenging courses, severe weather conditions, great team work, the best sushi, 20.000 spectators, live webcasts every day - a week of superlatives in one of our favorite mountain resorts. Check out the event website here.
